Sweet & Savory Baked Beans

This recipe screams many things to me:

Summer! Barbecue! Picnic! America!

Let me explain that last point.  Bacon?  Purely American.  Ketchup and mustard?  American condiments of choice.   Pork and beans — typical American cowboy dinner.

Kielbasa? Not so American but I’ll let that pass.

I’m not always the hugest fan of baked beans because they usually don’t have a lot of flavor or texture.  This recipe, on the other hand, has a ton of flavor with sweet pineapple and brown sugar, zesty steak sauce, savory kielbasa, and salty bacon.

I made these for a grill-out get-together.  The sweet and savory combo works so well, and I loved serving up a classic dish, fancied up with some fun ingredients.  Also, it never ever hurts to top your food with bacon.

Cook this up, give it a taste, and share with others!
