3 Ingredient Ice Cream Pie

This recipe is the best, easiest, and most delicious dessert, and you need to make it right now!

Okay, being dramatic isn’t usually my style, but this is an awesomely delicious and simple recipe.  My friend Kate brought this ice cream pie to a Super Supper with friends last year.  It was the perfect dessert — we loved it.

She shared the recipe details:

Pie crust + softened ice cream + Magic Shell = Ice Cream Pie

3 ingredients and really delicious.  I copied Kate’s combo of Oreo crust, Bunny Tracks, and fudge-flavored Magic Shell.

I like this recipe because it’s a breeze to put together, but it feels more homemade and special-occasion worthy than plain ice cream (although just ice cream is wonderful as well).

The fun thing is you could switch out for different pie crusts, ice cream, or even other Magic Shell types.

Here’s some more fun combos I’m dreaming about:

Oreo crust + mint chocolate chip ice cream + fudge Magic Shell

Graham crack crust + Rocky Road ice cream + caramel Magic Shell

Oreo crust + vanilla ice cream + Reese’s Magic Shell

Graham cracker crust + strawberry ice cream + fudge Magic Shell

Lots of possibilities — let me know if you try any!

3 Ingredient Ice Cream Pie

  • 1.75 quart (or half gallon) ice cream, softened
  • pre-made pie crust
  • Magic Shell

Add softened ice cream to pie.  You will use a little less than half a gallon.

Top with Magic Shell.  Freeze until hardened then slice and serve!

One more tip: if you don’t want to buy Magic Shell, you can make your own by melting chocolate chips with a little coconut oil.  The coconut oil will make the same “magic” happen and harden when topped on the ice cream.

Also, don’t forget to save the plastic lid from the pie crust packaging.

Hope you try this simple and delicious recipe!
